Registration fee: $10-15 depending on Level entered

This portion of the exam is eligible to students who have passed the corresponding theory level exam with a score of 70 or higher.   Students must present various technical requirements, as listed in the Syllabus.  Additionally, students must prepare four pieces, one from each period of music (Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Contemporary).  Two out of the four pieces must be memorized.  Students will receive a score, written comments, and trophy.  For more information, visit www.lvmta.org

This is a non-competitive national event where students are adjudicated on their own merits.  Students prepare two pieces to perform and can be awarded up to 5 points per playing level entered.  Memorization is required.  Each time 15 points are accumulated, a trophy is received.  Honors medals are given out at the adjudicator's discretion for outstanding performances.  For more information, visit www.nfmc-music.org

A fun recital where choice of music must come from the Jazz, Ragtime, or Blues genre.  This is an adjudicated event and memorization is required.  All participants will receive a certificate.  Those who earn a Superior with Distinction rating will receive a gold seal and medal.  Visit www.lvmta.com for further details.

This is a wonderful time to play some holiday music and feel the festive holiday spirit!  It is a fun, no pressure performance.  Memorization is strongly encouraged but not required.

This festival highlights the performance of music written for two or more people to play.  It is great for students to team up with siblings or friends who also play the piano or another instrument.  This is an adjudicated performance, but music does not need to be memorized.  All students receive a certificate and colored ribbon based on rating received.  Students can also choose the Junior Festival option where they prepare two songs and collect points towards a trophy.  Students who do not have an ensemble partner may enter with the Showcase Piece option. Registration Fee: $5

This recital is a celebration of students' achievements and progress during the year.  Studio awards are given out after the performances.  Junior Festival Superior certificates, honors medals, and trophies are presented.  In addition, Musicianship Exam trophies will be awarded.  Memorization of pieces performed is strongly encouraged but not required.  A reception will follow the performance, time permitting

Registration fee: $25

Students compete with one movement of a standard concerto listed on the LV Philharmonic's website.  Students must audition by memory.  The winner will be invited to perform in the LV Philharmonic's Youth Concert Series.  To find out more information, visit www.lvphil.org
